Top 5 Reasons to Visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

[ad_1]

As if Orlando and Universal Studios weren’t exciting enough to visit, fans of the best selling books and smash hit movies can head to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando.

5. The Dragon Challenge

This exciting roller coaster, named after the task in the Triwizard tournament, sees you ride aboard one of two dragons which whizz around the tracks that intertwine and have several near misses. As you queue to board the world’s only inverted roller coaster, you will see many items from the world of Harry Potter including the Triwizard Cup and the Goblet of Fire.

4. Ollivander’s Wand Shop

Cynics might see it as a ploy to sell merchandise, but a nice touch at the attraction is Ollivander’s Wand Shop, where a group of visitors can enter the shop and Ollivander finds a fitting wand for volunteers. The lucky wizard can then buy his special wand from the gift shop.

3. Drinking a butterbeer – Fans of the books will be extremely excited to hear that you will get the chance to enjoy a butterbeer. Butterbeers at the Orlando attraction come in the form of a butterscotch cream soda served cold with ice or in a frozen drink. In the books, butterbeer can be served warm or cold, but presumably those in charge thought a cold drink might suit the Orlando heat a bit better than the warm version.

2. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

Sure to be the highlight of any visit to the world, this attraction sees you taking a walking tour of Hogwarts Castle, viewing props from the films and interacting with characters. Then jump on board a magical bench which takes you outside the castle where you will dodge dementors, see the Whomping Willow and join in with a Quidditch match.

1. It’s a Harry Potter theme park!

The last reason to visit is the fact it is a Harry Potter theme park attraction! For fans of Potter, there surely isn’t anything better than being transported into the world itself. Great time and care has gone to recreate parts of the world as realistically as possible and you will truly feel like you are stepping foot in the world of Harry Potter.

There is nothing stopping you from visiting more than one attraction when in Orlando, so why not take a trip to Disney World as well? There are a wealth of great attractions in the area and enough to keep most families busy for their entire holiday.
