Winners of the Green Card lottery 2013, have been registered by the Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg. The DV lottery program, conducted every year, under the terms of the Immigration and Nationality Act, grants 50,000 diversity visas to people from DV lottery eligible countries. Around 105,628 applicants of DV-2013, are registered by the KCC. All the selectees may apply for immigrant visas.

Immigrant visas to eligible winners are likely to be issued before September 30, 2013 and diversity visas will be apportioned among 6 geographic locations. Winners who apply for visas must provide a proof of their education or work experience during their interviews, to establish their eligibility. Though all the winners may not get immigrant visas, all the winners may apply for immigrant visas.

At times all the winners may not have the required educational qualification or the work experience and only half the number of eligible winners may receive visas to immigrate to the United States. However, 50,000 diversity immigrant visas will be issued to eligible winners.

According to the DV-2013 results, highest number of winners is from Ukraine (6,424). Next to that, there are 6,218 winners from Nigeria, 6,029 from Iran, 5,105 from Ghana, 5,101 from Uzbekistan, 5,015 from Egypt, 4,910 from Ethiopia, 4,410 from Kenya and 4,370 from Nepal. These are the places with more number of winners.

Next to these countries, following are ten other countries with more winners, (3,924) Democratic Republic Of The Congo, (3,858) Cameroon, (2,846) Russia, (2,516) Sierra Leone,(2,161) Algeria, (2,068) Morocco, (2038) Poland, (1,916) Liberia, (1,807) Turkey and (1,520) Albania.

More number of diversity visas, granted through this program are allotted to countries from where a very less number of people had immigrated to America. The US Congress has adopted this process to diversify the overall population of the country. Moreover, the number of diversity visas granted to all the different eligible countries is not the same and it depends on the immigration rates of the countries. Similarly, the number of people who enter the program from various eligible countries is also not the same and so the chances of an applicant to win the lottery is based on the number of applicants from his country of nationality.

Applicants from countries with lesser number of applicants are most likely to win the lottery. Your country of birth plays an important role because, if you are a citizen of an eligible country which has the highest chances of winning the DV lottery and with a very less number of applicants, your chances to win the lottery may increase. Entrant status check is the only way through which the winners may get to know about their interviews. Interviews will determine the eligibility of the winner and if the interview is successful, the winner will be granted an immigrant visa and with that he can immigrate to the United States and file an application for a Green Card.
