Do you enjoy traveling? Do you enjoy paying high prices for your airline tickets? I didn’t think so. Have you ever felt really good about a deal and felt that you found really cheap one way airline tickets only to find out that the passenger sitting across from you only paid half what you did? This happens more often than you think.
Airlines seem to have tricks up their sleeves (or wings) when pricing their airline tickets. By knowing these tips, you can be that passenger that others are jealous of.
- #1. You don’t always have to buy directly from the airline. There are many airlines that advertise their prices through commercials and through travel sites. They don’t always advertise their lowest fares this way. By talking to a travel agent, you may be able to inquire about cheap one way airline tickets. Travel agents can have access to loads of information that travel websites do not. There may even be information in the newspapers about really low prices for airline tickets.
- #2. Yes, you can get a first class ticket for a coach price. A lot of travel agents know about these codes. Ask about a special type of fare. These fares usually come with the code “YUPP”, “QUPP”, or “Z”. The code could be a coach seat that comes with an automatic upgrade, or you could get an insanely discounted first class seat. Couldn’t hurt to ask.
- #3. A lot of airlines divide their seats into price categories. They usually only have a small number of seats at a well discounted price while their other seats are put into high categories. A lot of times, by the time the airline has advertised their discounted seats to the public, the discounted the seats are already gone. The prices for their other seats in the other categories fluctuate as the demand changes.
